Dubbo Buslines is part of the Buslines Group, providing a network of route bus services, together with regional and inter-regional school transport services throughout New South Wales. As a member of the Buslines Group, it represents one of Australia's largest and oldest bus operators and has become a name synonymous with the highest standards of safety and service.

Buslines Group provides a network of route bus services, together with regional and inter-regional school transport services throughout New South Wales. The original company was founded on 25 March 1926 by John Alan Gilbert and began bus operations under the name of John A Gilbert Pty Limited. In 1943 John A Gilbert acquired Tamworth's bus services and in 1946, Berrima and Orange joined the group. Today, the company, known as the Buslines Group, also includes services in Ballina, Bathurst, Berrima, Dubbo, Forster, Griffith, Lithgow, Northern Rivers, Orange, Tamworth, Ulladulla and Wingham. These subsidiaries and affiliated businesses form a network of quality bus services which is unparalleled anywhere in Australia. This unique public transport operation provides the skills and resources that enables Buslines to achieve clear leadership in the public transport industry, especially in the key areas of customer service, safety and quality.

The City of Dubbo is an important regional centre servicing the agricultural district in the Western Plains of New South Wales.
